Audiobooks have seen a surge in popularity in the last decade and so it was only natural that the many novels I (Paul) have written and intend to write would become audiobooks at some point.
The process is quite intense and if you go down the route of hiring a narrator then the cost will run into thousands of pounds and that is before any advertising is done to try to promote them.
When Amazon, aka Kindle Direct Publishing, announced an AI audiobook service I was interested but soon become disappointed in the initial attempt to produce 'A Ghostly Diversion' via the service and was quickly abandoned.
Audible allows the author to narrate their own books and produce it themselves based on their guidelines and so I invested in a good microphone for recording and already had sound editing software so took the plunge.
Although it does take time to record then edit the various chapter sound files, it can be very rewarding to submit the audiobook to Audible then wait ten working days to see if it is accepted.
The good news is that apart from an initial blip, to date (Jan 2026) 10 of my novels are now live on Audible, Amazon and iTunes with one in review and the rest in the process of being recorded.
Shown below are the currently available audiobooks (click on each cover for the Amazon link or go to Audible or iTunes and search for the title you want):
The James Hansone Ghost Mysteries
The Fragility series
