So, you want to know a bit about us?
Paul and Lorraine have been together since 1992 but knew of each other a few years earlier. We live in Horncastle in the rural county of Lincolnshire, England, UK.
Paul's passion (apart from Lorraine of course!) is Astronomy and Space and is an award winning astronomer giving talks up and down the UK (and occasionally further afield), more recently via zoom. He was the Reviews Editor of the BBC Sky at Night magazine from 2006 until retiring in January 2024, an astrophotographer and explorer of the night sky.
In the past he has been involved with Boston Astronomers in various positions on the committee including Chairman up until leaving the club in the early 2000's.
He is an FRAS and FBIS and for eight years was one of three astronomers on the Northern Lights Flights up to 2013.
In recent years Paul has also now a self published novelist/author with a Ghost Mystery series along with several science fiction novels with more planned.
Lorraine's passion (OK, apart from Paul!) is Family History and Genealogy and she is a member of the Society of Genealogists.
Until she moved up to Lincolnshire to be with Paul there was little known about what her long term illness was. Once she was with the Horncastle Medical Practise over the years it was discovered she has a rare genetic disorder called
Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome amongst other ailments so on her section of the site Paul has put up pages based on what Lorraine has told him so people can understand the conditions she suffers with.
Both of us love to spot Butterflies and Moths in our garden and house and when we are away, so a section of the website is dedicated to our summertime passion.
