Earthshine on the Moon. This effect is best seen when the Moon is a slim crescent in either the evening or morning sky. The bright crescent is the sunlit side of the Moon whilst light bouncing off the Earth lights up the 'night side' of the Moon showing up the Moons features in a ghostly way. this picture was taken on April 10th 2005 at 21:08 BST just as slight haze in th sky began to develop.
